Response to article on Sen. Sweeney

TO THE EDITOR:
There was no name calling in this article. It purely stated that the phrase, “this small and fiercely resistant minority may have to be forced-fed prosperity,” was attributed to Communist thinker Kenneth Galbraith. Although you argue that you penned these words yourself, it is still appalling that it carries the same sentiment as a communist thinker.

Sen. Sweeney, you are betraying your constituents by allowing or promoting eminent domain for a private company to put a hazardous pipeline under our agriculture land. Land that people have been paying taxes on since before you were born. These same people pay taxes that support your salary as you supposedly represent them. Do you have a conscience?

It begs the question – Are you being paid off by the pipeline company, or are you one of the 300 lowa investors? This whole project is taxpayer funded. We don’t need Summit Carbon Solutions stealing money from us as taxpayers and using it for eminent domain on our family farms.
