Bill By Sen Klimesh.  Horrible Bill!

Here is a PDF of Senate File 376 that Sen Klimesh is pushing through sub committee. An attorney went through the bill and made notes.

This is a horrible bill!

It is an absolutely horrible bill that takes jurisdiction away for local county officials.  For those counties that have ordinance against the advancement of wind turbines …. please read this bill.

I am still going over it now.

Horrible Bill!!!

A message from Kim Junker, Landowner, Butler and Grundy Co Iowa

If there was ever any doubt that certain state government officials are working to take away local control from the people of Iowa, then SF376 should open your eyes.   I refer to it as the communist take-over bill of local jurisdictions.  This bill is sponsored by Republican Senator Mike Klimesh of district 32.    Senator Klimesh is promoting a bill that favors big, wealthy corporate interests over the will of the people.

Iowa would be among a handful of “blue” states like Michigan, New York and Illinois that have stripped local control to permit large scale wind and solar projects.   Wind and solar developers are trying to ram their projects down the throats of an unwilling and un-wanting public. These companies are working over-time to push this agenda because the public is wising up to the false promises of wind and solar.  County governments are carrying out the wishes of their constituents by enacting moratoriums and ordinances to stop projects, all because of the growing citizen opposition to these project developments in their neighborhoods. Over half of Iowa counties have created some form of regulation of wind and solar projects due to this overwhelming opposition.

Who better to know the wishes of the people than the local jurisdictions?

Contact your state legislators and tell them “NO” on SF376

Below is last years bill, SSB 3169,  that failed to come out of senate commerce committee.

This is last years bill below from a FreeSoilFoundation Facebook post: https://www.facebook.com/share/p/18JRj3yYX5/

After this bill, Sen Klimesh doesn’t deserve to go back! He wanted to strip counties of the power to set rules, set back, ordinances against wind energy and evening scrap the restrictions currently in place! Three of us from FreeSoil Foundation testified at the subcommittee after 20 or so lobbyists testified. They all want the counties to lose the right to regulate anything against wind energy.
See this link.

Klimesh was Chair of that subcommittee and was very eager to take it to full committee for passage.

We Need to Vote him out!
